Shanika is trained in General Surgery and Endoscopy, further sub-specialising in Liver and Renal Transplantation and Dialysis Access Surgery. She is a member of RACS (Royal Australasian College of Surgeons), GSA (General Surgeons Australia), GESA (Gastroenterological Society of Australia) and TSANZ (Transplantation Society of Australia and New Zealand).
She trained in metropolitan, regional and remote settings across NSW, the ACT, Queensland, Victoria, the Northern Territory and in the United Kingdom. This has given her greater understanding of the specific needs within various communities and helped tailor treatments to each patient’s unique circumstances.
Shanika’s proud commitment to education includes patients, families and healthcare professionals, extending from within the hospital to community settings.
