Dr James Walcott FRACS is a General Surgeon with subspecialty training in liver, biliary, pancreas (HPB) and liver transplant surgery. He is a current member of the Australian and New Zealand Society for HPB surgery (AANZHPBA).
As a General Surgeon, he has extensive experience in emergency general surgery, trauma with significant experience working remotely in rural Australia. As an HPB and liver transplant surgeon, Dr Walcott worked as a consultant at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane from 2023-2024, in addition to 6 years of post-fellowship training, including 18 months at St James’s Hospital in Leeds, UK.
Dr Walcott performs open and minimally invasive surgery for the stomach, liver, gallbladder, pancreas and small bowel for benign and malignant conditions. He is also proficient in open and minimally invasive hernia surgery for the groin as well as complex abdominal wall reconstructions. Dr Walcott is credentialed for endoscopy through the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA) to perform upper endoscopy, colonoscopy and ERCP.
